1999 Ford F150
The year 1999 saw a newer, re-designed front-end look for the F150 with big new
grilles, valance panels and chrome bumpers. A new Super Cab variation with four
doors is also introduced. With these new innovations, plus its established reputation
as a top-notch pickup truck, the
F150 is geared to maintain its top spot it had for many years now. For this year,
Ford has increased the power of its 5.4-liter V8 significantly to 260 horsepower
and 345 foot-pounds of torque.

The two V8s are Ford's Triton overhead-cam engines. This provides the 1999 F150
with added boost and power. The new Triton engine is one of the best features
of the F150. It offers a smooth ride that is unparalleled in the pickup truck
segment. Also, the high-performance SVT Lightning, sporting aggressive styling
and a supercharged V8 engine, returns. Handling is quick and responsive.
The driving experience that the F150 offers is indeed greatly enhanced for the
1999 version with improved steering feel and directional stability that adds to
the feeling of safety and comfort. The ride is also surprisingly good. With its
newer, more attractive look, superb interior, excellent Triton V8 engines, it's
easy to see why the Ford F150 conquers the top spot in terms of sales once again.
